Silver Award Success
We are thrilled to announce that Grange Academy has achieved the Food for Life Silver Award.
Everyone at Food for Life would like to congratulate the whole school on all the hard work and great things you are doing around good food culture. We know that it takes a lot to achieve this award, and your commitment to the good food movement is inspiring. Thank you to all involved for putting in the time and effort to reach this wonderful milestone!
Sharing Our Success
“Our school has achieved a Food for Life Silver Award, which means that the food we serve has been rigorously assessed to ensure it’s high quality, healthy and sustainable.
As a Food for Life Silver school we:
- Serve school meals on proper crockery, not plastic ‘flight trays’
- Meet Silver Food for Life Served Here Standards which shows that school food is healthy, ethical, and uses some local and organic ingredients
- Have a cooking club, where pupils get to cook with and eat the produce grown in the school growing area
- Involve parents and the wider community to get involved in food education via food-themed events
- Our food is healthy, ethical, and uses local ingredients. We use a minimum of 5% organic ingredients in our menus.”
